Bed bath and beyond stock5/27/2023 Follow Mashable SEA on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Telegram. What is Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., ( BBBY )?īed Bath & Beyond Inc. Here's why Redditors are flooding the YouTube video for 'Gangnam Style' with meme stock commentsĭid bots help push GameStop and other ‘meme stocks’? A new report says yes. Reddit will now sell 'Collectible Avatars' NFTs but won't call them NFTs The 22 most useful free iPhone apps, according to Reddit Those Reddit users who are still around are simply along for the ride," writes Dillian. "So, the meme-stock trade today isn't really r/wallstreetbets versus big bad hedge funds, it's big bad hedge funds versus big bad hedge funds. Trading analyst Jared Dillian wrote on August 11 that the Bed Bath & Beyond craze in particular seems likely to be fueled less by retail investors than by hedge funds, since, Dillian surmises, many retail investors have blown through their COVID-era stimulus checks. Since its stock price exploded in early 2021, GameStop has seen an aggressive new business plan that involves an attempt to " reduce bloat" by laying off workers. And now some commentators are predicting a "short squeeze" - a spike in a stock price that occurs when those who have bet against the stock rush to exit their toxic investment by buying the stock in question, thus driving up the price drastically.īut meme stocks have been eyed by analysts for allegedly feeding off the activity of social media bots - particularly in the cases of Reddit favs AMC and GameStop. Then Bed Bath & Beyond's fortunes began to improve quickly. Then in early August, it saw an uptick, and a Redditor named TheDude0007 posted about making a risky US$45,000 investment in the company. The stock saw a brief spike in March, and then about five months of steady decline. Ever since then, Bed Bath & Beyond stock has been in a tug of war between meme-fueled exuberance and traditionalist pessimism. Naturally, r/wallstreetbets took notice, with one post praising Cohen as " the meme king," and saying "Ryan Cohen will never be matched," earning 10,423 Reddit karma points. Meanwhile, small-fish investors who YOLO their life savings into stocks they read about on Reddit often simply lose their life savings.Īt the start of March, The Wall Street Journal reported that billionaire and GameStop chairman Ryan Cohen had written a letter disparaging Bed Bath & Beyond’s operational plan, and in the process, announced that he owned 9.8 percent of the company. In reality, stodgy bean counters like the folks at Senvest Management, which made about US$700 million from the Gamestop Reddit phenomenon, are often the ones who make the most money from meme stocks. The meme stock phenomenon goes a little something like this: Users of retail investing apps and services like Robinhood read slur-laced stock "tips" on the internet, and then drive up stock prices, ostensibly in opposition to the stodgy bean counters in the traditional investment world. This time the stock symbol riding the r/wallstreetbets roller coaster is "BBBY," for Bed Bath & Beyond, the brick-and-mortar chain store where you can pick up a Keurig machine and some candles, and save big with one of their famous 20-percent-off coupons.Īs of Tuesday afternoon, BBBY had skyrocketed 67 percent in a day, according to The Wall Street Journal, which noted that at the top of its Tuesday spike, shares were trading at US$28.04, after being worth US$8.88 a week earlier. Reddit’s new favorite meme stock is doing what meme stocks do: spiking to an unsettling degree.

Landscapers companion app native plants5/26/2023 It requires no special lenses or math. How to use it. SASHA has no ads and no in-app purchases.SASHA is unique! No other app can do all the above.during winter or early spring), since there is a “simulate foliage” option which provides results nearly as accurate. SASHA can be used whether or not trees are covered with foliage (e.g. Within seconds of completing capture, SASHA reports the average hours of direct sunlight at that location, having taken into consideration all the nearby obstructions that can create shade. It does so by overlaying all the possible solar paths onto the background image, and determining when a path crosses a shading obstruction and when it does not.You touch the screen to capture an image of the outline and background and you continue doing this until the entire outline has been captured. As segments are captured, they are shaded so that you would know what still has to be captured.SASHA then displays an outline on your screen which shows the highest and lowest limits of the sun’s travel during the interval. As you move your device, the outline will stay in place relative to the background trees, buildings, etc. The objective is to photographically capture all the surroundings that are inside the outline.Next, SASHA computes all paths across your sky that the sun will take during your date interval, based on your location and NOAA’s algorithms for solar position. You can also set the interval to anything from 2 days to a whole year. Then it establishes the date interval over which you want your average. By default, it uses the last Spring frost date and the first Fall frost date, as determined by your nearest weather station.First, it establishes your location using GPS.Estimations based on aerial or satellite photos.Apps showing the sun’s path for a given day where you figure out the proportion of the path not hidden by obstructions.Cumbersome hemispherical gadgets on which you count off fractions of solar paths, or.Daily readings of a meter you place at the location, or.Hourly observations of the sun each day of the season for which you want an average, or.Gardeners know that each plant needs a certain amount of sun each day to thrive. But the amount of sun a plant’s location gets depends on the time of day, the time of year, nearby buildings, tree foliage, and the location’s latitude. In the past, an accurate determination of the average daily hours of direct sunlight required: The Shade and Sunlight Measurement Problem for Gardeners SASHA quickly determines the sun exposure in your yard and predicts how much sunlight will be available at any location at any time. A gardener scans their plant’s surroundings so that the app can determine what trees, foliage, buildings, etc., will cast shade over the plants. Then, in seconds, SASHA computes the hours of direct sunlight that can reach the plant, averaged over a period of time of your choice. Hook Mountain Software Development, Inc., has announced a new Android app called Sun And Shade Analyzer (SASHA) which will change how gardeners address the sunlight requirements of their plants. A link to download the app and a video demo appear at the end of this article. What follows is a slightly edited press release from the developer of the Sun And Shade Analyzer app. If you purchase this sun exposure app, please leave a review in the comments below and let us know how you like it. Unfortunately, we’re iPhone people and haven’t tested it. Here at Big Blog Of Gardening, we think this sun and shade analyzer app for gardeners with Android devices is a pretty cool idea.

Rescue team evil genius level 34 glitch5/26/2023 Java, C++ and Kotlin rule mobile for Android and Swift and Objective-C for iOS so you can’t develop software for mobile unless you understand the object-oriented approach. But that might be due to the success of languages who happen to be OOP. OOP is still one of the dominant paradigms right now. Other ways of describing this new way of solving problems include the analogy between an imperative programmer as “a cook or a chemist, following recipes and formulas to achieve a desired result” and the object oriented programmer as “a greek philosopher or 19th century naturalist concerned with the proper taxonomy and description of the creatures and places of the programming world.” Was the success just a coincidence? Everything comes with an implicit, inescapable environment. There is the overhead when reusing code that the creator of Erlang famously described as a case when you wanted a banana but you got a gorilla holding the banana. Some claimed that under OOP writing tests is harder and it requires extra care to refactor. Then the critics arrived on the scene, some of them quite disappointed. With OOP being followed by OOA (object-oriented analysis) and OOD (object-oriented design) it soon felt like everything you did in software had to be broken down to objects and their relationships to each other. After an initial hype period had promised improvements for modularising and organising large codebases, the idea was over applied. If they are used to top-down programming or functional programming, which treats elements of code as precise mathematical functions, it takes some getting used to. It is fair to say that, generations later, the idea of organizing your code into larger meaningful objects that model the parts of your problem continues to puzzle programmers. In contrast, many people who have experience with computers initially think there is something strange about object oriented systems.” “Many people who have no idea how a computer works find the idea of object-oriented programming quite natural. In the August edition of Byte magazine in 1981, David Robson opens his article, which became the introduction of Object-Oriented Software Systems for many, by admitting up front that it is a departure from what many familiar with imperative, top-down programming are used to.

Plexamp raspberry pi5/26/2023 While I appreciate the convenience of digital stream I also enjoy the process and experience of playing physical media, which I’ve written about before. My collection consists largely of CDs with some vinyl records mixed in. Today I’m going to talk about the tools I’m using to manage my collection including how I catalog, import, serve and listen to it.Īlthough I do subscribe to a music streaming service I have taken an interest in expanding my physical collection as well. Might be worth a look.Īnd after that huge thread, here are the latest build instructions from the CTO.Since 2021 I’ve been using a combination of tools to handle my music collection. The below is an effort to get plexamp onto the raspberry pi with mpd to get gapless and a few other things working better. It's cross device and fits into an existing Plex household very nicely. I purchased a Hifiberry and currently use Roon, but landed here because I have another friend that doesn't want Roon and I think a Plex endpoint might be the best option. There are lots of audio hat's that can work with Raspberry Pi's - I did compile a page of this a long time back which I've linked below. It supports Raspberry Pi Audio hats and such like which means you can choose RCA or Optical or whatever you like. That way you use the built in Plex sharing. I had a friend that used Rasplex on the Raspberry Pi and set that as an Audio endpoint. One thing I've found that is really nice and easy to use the Spotify plugin in LMS which allows playing and controlling Spotify directly from the iPeng interface instead of having to mess around selecting the device in Spotify and then controlling the audio in iPeng. I have to reboot the RPi endpoints occasionally, like once every month or two at the most. I've never had any problems with buffering or stuttering even with 192k/24b files, although there is the occasional hiccup which I suspect plagues any digital distribution system. I use iPeng on my iPhone and iPad for remote control of any of the endpoints or simply listening via headphones on either device, knowing that I'm not getting hi res because of the constraints on the Apple devices. And for my HiFi system in the living room, I went down the path of using a Pi display with a Jivelite enabled providing USB output to the DAC. For example, I have a RPi Zero and a JustBoom DAC Zero in a little box connected to an older receiver in the garage. I run PiCorePlayer on a variety of RPi endpoints with various output configurations, depending on the location. The same RPi also does double duty as an endpoint. I run Logitech Media Server (LMS) on a RPi 3B+ which accesses the music stored on the NAS. I use both Ethernet and WiFi for streaming to the endpoints. It's more about keeping things organized. I use XLD to rip CDs that I own and have a script that adds them to the NAS and the iTunes library even though I don't really use it any more. I store both my music and video library on a QNAP NAS which also has a native Plex app. I've considered PlexAmp, but my current system works so well, I've been reluctant to mess with it. This probably won't answer your question directly, but it might give you some ideas. |
